Hi everyone! :)

We sincerely hope that you’re all enjoying the warm weather and that you have already planned your summer vacation. Here at Symphony we are doing great things, but also enjoying our time off in the proper manner.

Newcomers

This time we are going to wish the warmest welcome to Damnjan, who recently joined our Belgrade office. He enjoys the creative approach to problem solving that his job offers but, like us, he values his spare time and just experienced his best vacation through a solo trip to Copenhagen.

Symphony on the Road

Our amazing Almina was in Belgrade visiting our office and working full-time with our community there. She brought with her a pair of the new ODG R8 glasses, which are bringing the power of mobile virtual computing to discerning consumers. ODG’s new glasses provide access to movies, sport, gaming, navigation and news articles and books through smart glasses that are smaller and sleeker than any other device in the ODG’s portfolio: they weigh just over four ounces.

At the same time, we welcomed back our d.light team from Kenya. Our team spent some time there working with the d.light team on new releases and plans for the future. By the way, did you know that African cuisine is delicious! Our team was more than pleasantly surprised by the tasty local meals.

Client updates

Our client Endless Computers says that the launch of its operating system – its first product launch in Southeast Asia – will add “a new dimension” to the country’s personal computer landscape. The Endless OS is free, easy to use and virus-resistant for extra security. It is free to download for any PC and is pre-loaded in some Thai-branded PCs. A Thai language version is also available. The newest addition to the Endless OS App Centre is ‘Steam’, the world’s largest online gaming platform. Content is updated regularly and new Thai apps will be added as additional local partnerships are forged.

Another update also comes from d.light who has launched a flagship solar home system that will not only enable users to light their homes and charge their phones but also to watch digital TV channels from the comfort of their home. The solar X850, launched globally last week at the African headquarters of d.light in Nairobi, is the company’s first foray into a platform-based solar home system for its customers. After making an impact on the lives of 75 million people, d.light is well on track to surpassing its goal of empowering 100 million people by 2020.

A project launch that we are all excited to see in the very near future is a Cabin (formerly known as SleepBus, founded in 2016) chartered bus service between LA and SF. Once launched this service will allow passengers to fall asleep in one city and wake up in another: for $115 one-way. The logistics are a no-brainer: get in, grab a bunk and snooze. Passengers are accommodated in ‘sleep pods’ fitted with foam mattresses, luxury linen and privacy shades. Each pod comes with personal outlets, including a vent, a shelf where you can lodge your phone, a reading light, a large water bottle, earplugs and even tea

Community stories

Our Sarajevo team organized and helped prepare a traditional iftar (dinner after the daily fast) during the month of Ramadan. Everyone played at least a small part in preparing the iftar and, later on, everybody enjoyed home cooked dishes with a little twist of Symphony.

After the Eid, Irfan from our Sarajevo office sent baklava (a sweet Bosnian desert usually eaten during the Eid) to our community in Belgrade and thus helped spread some holiday joy across our community.

Short community updates

Nikola Stojanovic, Bozidar Zecevic, Milan Vucic, Uros Zivaljevic, Dragan Bajic, Marko Cajic, Stevan Medic and Stefan Ilijevski are going to Donji Stoj to attend a music festival and in the process help spread the Symphony culture.

Marija Smoljanic figured out that it would be great to collect bottle caps and join the initiative called "Caps for handicap" (Čep za hendikep). So, we organized a darts tournament in Belgrade and discovered that the Symphony darts master is Uros Zivaljevic.

Ivan Djuricic is now a married man! Congrats to him and his beautiful wife!

That’s all folks! Talk to you soon and stay happy :)
