Welcome to the first of many updates we will publish about the Symphony community. This is our way of offering you a unique insight into our initiatives, provide important information and describe some of the fun things we enjoy doing. We decided to do this in the form of a blog because it offers the perfect media to write about some of the many great things we do, but rarely find time to mention. We hope that you enjoy reading our updates and through this become better acquainted with our community.
Every month we take the time to celebrate Symphony anniversaries and we have two in April. Srdjan Todorovic and Marko Grujic are both celebrating one year of being part of our community, so congratulations and happy Symphony anniversary Srdjan and Marko! We are proud to have you on our team!
Twice a month, or every two weeks (whichever you prefer), we organize Flow sessions at our Sarajevo and Belgrade offices. This time, Emina Adilagic Gacan, Dino Osmanovic, Ivan Dragosan and Maja Todosovski held sessions on upcoming internal initiatives. More specifically, about programs that are beneficial for the members of our community and efforts aimed at employee development.
These sessions also give us the opportunity to share updates on our clients and projects, but we always use them to discuss a wide range of topics. We have learned that discussing technical and company variations and concerns brings welcome benefits in the long term.
While weâre mentioning clients and project updates, we have a few of them to share with you. The last Friday in March marked the official completion of our current engagement with CanopyLAB. Yet we get to keep great memories, newly found friendships and business achievements that will remain with us forever. We look forward to further collaboration in the near future. Here, special thanks go to Boris, Nebojsa and Ivan Dj for always being on point: good job guys!
Just in case you are wondering about the champagne in the photos below, they were a thank you gift from CanopyLab to our offices in Sarajevo and Belgrade.
Also in March, our client Technology to Serve (TTS) attended an exhibition âCare & ICTâ at their branch with new products developed by Symphony. The first impressions were very good and we at Symphony are more than happy to have had an opportunity to work on a project that is truly making a difference in our world.
Another of our clients is also celebrating a big moment this month, this time itâs ODG. They unveiled their R-7HL (the HL stands for Hazardous Location) enterprise focused AR smart glasses, which are optimized for hazardous locations. The R-7HL are designed for workers whose environments are a bit more on the extreme side. ODG specifically mention âoil exploration and production, energy, mining, utilities, chemical production and pharmaceuticalsâ as some of the industries for which the new headset is optimized. The R-7HL will be available by the end of the second quarter of 2017 and we cannot wait to hear the first reactions!
Quite often, we cite one of the many perks of being part of the Symphony community as the opportunity to visit our other offices and clients. We have had a lot of travelling within our community in the past two or three weeks. Aleksandar and the two Ivans have visited our Sarajevo office, while Marko and Igor from the Belgrade office had the opportunity to visit Rome and work with one of our clients. We would have loved to share some cool pictures from Rome with you, but we had an unfortunate case of damaged phone. On the bright side, this only means one thing: we have to repeat the visit!
Meanwhile, the San Francisco takeover is still happening. Almina landed there at the beginning of April and we are all waiting patiently for more photos, but for now we have no choice other than to be satisfied with this one.
At the end of March, our CEO, Haris Memic, delivered a presentation on his path to success. In front of more than 70 Burch University students, Haris outlined exactly how he discovered that he could run a successful business. Take a look at the photo below, we felt really proud of our culture and story that day!
Ivan Dragosan, Country Director of the Symphony Serbia Office, has been nominated for the TOYP (Ten Outstanding Young Persons) award, recognized by JCI. JCI is a ânonprofit organization of young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their communities.â Congrats Ivan, we are so proud of you and your accomplishment. Thanks for being an inspiration to us all!
We think that there is no better way to finish our first community blog post than with our newly released Symphony community video. We have spent numerous hours and had multiple brainstorming sessions with video and music producers to create a video that will be a true representation of our spirit and culture.
